Ranging principle
 
After the module is powered up, the system first determines the input level of the Range pin, and sets the different range according to the input level. When the Range pin is high, the range is 3m, when the Range pin is low, the range is 1m.
Then, the system starts with a continuous ranging, and the ranging results are output by simulating the voltage at the Out pin. When the distance changes, the analog voltage will also be changed.
The analog voltage is proportional to the distance, and the output range of the analog voltage is 0~Vcc.
When the system range is 1m, the measurement distance is: L = 1024*Vout/Vcc (mm). When the output voltage is 0V, the corresponding distance is 0m, and the output Vcc is 1.024m.
When the system range is 3m, the measurement distance is: L = 3096*Vout/Vcc (mm). When the output voltage is 0V, the corresponding distance is 0m, and the output Vcc is 3.072m.
 

US-016 ultrasonic ranging module

1.   Outline

US-016 ultrasonic ranging module can achieve 2cm ~ 3m non-contact distance measurement function, the supply voltage of 5V, operating current of 3.8mA, support for analog voltage output, stable and reliable. This module can be set to different ranges according to different scenarios (maximum measurement distance respectively 1m and 3m); when the Range pin is floating range is 3m.

US-016 can measure the distance into an analog output voltage, output voltage is proportional to the measured distance.

4. Interface Description
 
This module has an interface: 4 Pin power supply and communication interface.
 

 

    4 Pin interface pin 2.54mm pitch bend, shown in Figure 4.1:

From left to right are numbered 1,2,3,4. They are defined as follows:

 Hao Pin: connected to VCC power supply (DC 5V).

 Hao Pin: range setting pin (Range), when the module is powered up when this pin is high, the range of 3m; when the module is powered up when this pin is low, the range of 1m. Within this pin pull-up resistor, when the Range pin floating, the range is 3m.

 Hao Pin: analog voltage output pin (Out), an analog voltage proportional to the distance measurement, the output range is 0 ~ Vcc.

 Hao Pin: connected to an external circuit.

5.   Ranging works

After the power module, the system first determines Range pin input level to set different ranges depending on the input level of the state.When the Range pin is high, the range is 3m, when the Range pin is low, the range is 1m.

Then, the system begins continuous ranging, while the ranging results in an analog voltage output pin Out. When the change in distance analog voltage will also vary.
