Current Limiting Required: Always use current-limiting resistors (100–220Ω for 5V operation) on each segment to prevent damage. Calculate using:
R = (V_supply - V_F) / I_segment
For 5V supply with 2.0V forward voltage and 20mA current:
R = (5V - 2V) / 0.02A = 150Ω (use 150Ω or 180Ω standard value)
Common Anode Driving: Connect the common anode pin(s) to positive supply voltage. Drive each segment LOW (GND) through resistors to light them.
Multiplexing: For multiple digits, this is a single-digit display. For multi-digit applications, you’ll need multiple FJS18101BH units.
Brightness Control: Use PWM on the common anode or segment drivers to adjust brightness.
