The SYN480R is a low-cost, high-performance ASK/OOK superheterodyne receiver IC designed for wireless data transmission in the 315 MHz, 433.92 MHz, 868 MHz, or 915 MHz ISM bands.
It is commonly used in wireless remote controls, keyless entry systems, and data links.
The chip integrates an RF amplifier, mixer, IF amplifier, and data slicer to provide stable and sensitive demodulation of ASK (Amplitude Shift Keying) or OOK (On-Off Keying) signals.
Supports ASK / OOK modulation schemes
Wide operating frequency range: 300 MHz to 450 MHz
High sensitivity: typically –112 dBm @ 2.4 kbps, 433 MHz
Low current consumption: ~3.5 mA (typical)
Fast startup and data acquisition
Digital data output (CMOS/TTL compatible)
Low external component count
Stable operation over wide supply and temperature range
Compact SOP-8 package

Use a short 17 cm wire antenna for 433.92 MHz (λ/4).
Keep RF traces short and add a ground plane for best performance.
Add bypass capacitors (100 nF + 10 µF) close to VCC pin for noise immunity.
Use external AGC and IF filter capacitors as per reference design for stable operation.
