Description

DC Jack Female and 9V Clip Breakout Module For BreadBoard

Small breadboard power breakout that converts a standard DC barrel jack or a 9V battery snap (clip) into convenient breadboard-friendly VCC / GND pins. Ideal for quick prototyping, bench tests, education and hobby projects.

Key Features

  • Accepts either a standard DC barrel plug (center positive) or a 9V snap (battery clip).

  • Breadboard header pins for easy connection to a solderless breadboard or jumper wires (VCC, GND).

  • Onboard power indicator LED (with series resistor) to show presence of input power.

  • Push button (momentary) for optional power control on module (depending on variant).

  • Compact PCB designed to sit across a breadboard power rail.

  • Polarity and pin labels silk-screened on PCB for easy hookup.

Electrical Specifications (typical)

  • Input options:
    • DC Barrel Jack female (nominal 2.1 mm center pin, center-positive)
    • 9V battery snap (standard 9V clip)

  • Recommended input voltage: 3 V — 12 V (nominal use with 9V battery or DC adapters)

  • Maximum continuous current: up to 2 A (limited by connector and PCB traces; sustained current depends on input connector & wiring)

  • Reverse polarity protection: None (model does not include reverse-polarity MOSFET/diode unless explicitly stated in product listing) — connect with correct polarity.

  • Power indicator: Green LED with series resistor (onboard)

  • Output pins: VCC, GND (2.54 mm / 0.1″ pitch header) — suitable for breadboard rails and jumper wires

Mechanical

  • PCB dimensions: approx. 60 × 16 mm (may vary)

  • DC jack type: female barrel jack (2.1 mm center, center positive)

  • Battery connector: standard 9V snap clip lead included (approx. 12–15 cm leads)

  • Mounting: No screw holes (hand-held / breadboard module)

Pinout / Connector Map

  • Barrel jack: center = VCC (positive), sleeve = GND (negative)

  • 9V clip: red = positive → VCC, black = negative → GND

  • Header pins (to breadboard): VCC | GND (clearly silk-screened)

Assembly / BOM (what’s typically on the board)

  • 1 × DC barrel jack female (2.1 mm center)

  • 1 × 9V snap clip cable (pre-wired)

  • 1 × Power LED (green)

  • 1 × LED series resistor (120–470 Ω)

  • 2 × 2-pin male header (VCC, GND) or single 2-pin inline header

  • 1 × momentary push button (optional model variants)

  • PCB with silkscreened labels

How to Use

  1. Insert a DC adapter into the barrel jack (observe center-positive) or attach a 9V battery to the snap.

  2. Check that the onboard LED lights up — power present.

  3. Plug the VCC and GND header into your breadboard power rails or use jumper wires to feed your circuit.

  4. Turn off power or remove battery when not in use.

Example Applications

  • Breadboard power source for Arduino Nano, sensors, LEDs, and small projects.

  • Classroom labs and electronics workshops.

  • Quick prototyping and debugging where a benchtop supply is not available.

Safety & Notes

  • Always verify the polarity of the barrel jack and 9V clip before connecting to circuits. Reversing polarity may damage your boards and components.

  • 9V battery capacity and current are limited — not suitable for high-current loads for long periods.

  • For projects that require reverse-polarity protection, overcurrent protection, or regulated output, use an additional protection/regulator board.

  • If you require an explicit current rating >2 A, consider using heavier connectors and thicker wires/traces.
