A tiny, palm-sized lighting module you can drop into wearable, ambient, DIY, or product prototypes. The capacitive TTP223 touch switch lets you toggle the light with a fingertip, while a D882 NPN power transistor drives four 5730 high-brightness LEDs—each with its own 33 Ω (1206) resistor for balanced current.
Compact round PCB: 30 mm diameter (15 mm radius) for tight spaces.
Capacitive touch control: TTP223 IC for no-mechanical, solid-state on/off.
Robust LED drive: D882 power transistor handles the LED load reliably.
4× 5730 LED footprint: High-efficiency package; each LED has a 33 Ω 1206 series resistor.
Clean two-wire hookup: Just V+ and GND to power; no external switch required.
Low EMI, long life: No relays or clicky buttons; solid-state switching.
Versatile uses: Accent light, indicator, night light, small lamp, art projects, toys, props, wearables.
Input voltage (recommended): 5 V DC
LED configuration: 4 independent Warm White 5730 LEDs, each with 33 Ω series resistor
• At 5 V with white LEDs (Vf ≈ 2.8–3.2 V): ~50–70 mA per LED (typ.), ~200–280 mA total
Control: Touch to toggle (TTP223 OUT drives D882 base)
Quiescent current (OFF): Typically <1 mA
Polarity: V+ and GND silkscreened (reverse connection is not protected unless you add external diode)
🔎 Why 5 V? With 33 Ω resistors, 5 V yields a sensible LED current. Do not power from 12 V in this configuration—current will be excessive and can damage the LEDs.
PCB: Round, Ø 30 mm
Touch area: Exposed pad (or under-board touch through thin plastic/acrylic)
LED size: 5730 Warm White (SMD)
Resistor size: 1206 for each LED
Per-LED current: ~60 mA (5 V – ~3.0 V) / 33 Ω
Total current (4 LEDs): ~240 mA
Power (LEDs only): ~0.5 W
Thermals: Module will get warm—ensure airflow or mount to a small heatsink/metal surface if used continuously at full brightness.
V+: +5 V DC input
GND: Ground
(No external switch needed; touch pad is on the PCB.)
Supply 5 V to V+ and GND. A USB 5 V source or regulated 5 V supply works well.
Touch the pad to toggle the LEDs ON/OFF.
For behind-panel touch, place thin plastic/acrylic (≤2 mm) over the pad; TTP223 can usually sense through it.
If mounting in an enclosure, allow heat dissipation (vents or metal backing) for continuous use.
LED color: Works with standard 5730 packages (Warm White; other colors possible).
Brightness tuning: You can change the four 33 Ω resistors to adjust current (and brightness).
External control: If you ever want MCU control, you can drive the D882 base (via a resistor) instead of the TTP223 output—just ask and I’ll provide a reference mod.
